Temperature’s rising, bills are falling

City centre restaurant Obsidian has a novel way of tempting diners into its air-conditioned premises – a temperature related discount system.
After taking a reading from the Met office, diners are being treated to money off their bill depending on the day’s temperature in Manchester. For example today’s expected 26 degrees would translate to a 26% reduction on the bill.
Now cynics among you may, like me, think that bosses at the swanky eaterie are onto a safe bet now that temperatures have plummeted, but marketing manager Vanessa Clarke assures me that the offer started during the scorching temperatures.

“We launched it the day before the hottest day of the year. So far the hottest it has got to is 32 degrees and so people got that off their bills.”

And because the idea has caught on, it’s been extended throughout August for everyone dining between midday and 2pm.
All this novelty charging set me thinking…………….I wonder if they’d be interested in doing it on rainfall figures for the rest of the year?
