TWO of the region’s best known chefs are getting themselves noticed further afield.
Simon Rimmer (pictured left) is heading for television while Andrew Nutter (right) is heading for the World Wide Web.
Of course the local award-winning restaurateurs He’s no stranger to television appearances having created a meal for the Queen’s 80th birthday.
Simon, who is best known for the vegetarian restaurant Green’s in Didsbury and more recently the meat-inclusive Earle in Hale will soon be appearing in The Market Kitchen on cable and satellite channel UKTV Food.
The programme, made by makers of Gordon Ramsay’s TV hit Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares will see Simon appear with presenters which include Gordon’s wife Tana (pictured right), the son of the Duchess of Cornwall Tom Parker Bowles, and Clarissa Dickson Wright – one half of the Two Fat Ladies.
The daily magazine show will be broadcast from a specially created kitchen at London’s Borough Market and begins in April.
And then Andrew, who also appears on TV as well as running his restaurant in Norden, will be doing his bit to up the region’s profile as a culinary centre with his online video recipes.
Bosses at www.iLoaded.com have invited him to a launch in Los Angeles because they think he will be a hit in the US. The site is the first with videos made for portable devices, from laptops to mobiles.
