I’m told the nomination period is now open for the 2007 Manchester Blog Awards is now open.
One of the organisers, Kate from the excellent Manchizzle blog (I’m hoping a bit of creeping might get me ahead here!) has already had a good response – but there’s still time to nominate this, or any other, blog.
The closing date is September 7 and there are five categories:
– best political blog
– best personal blog
– best arts and culture blog
– best new blog (open to blogs begun since September 1 of 2006)
– And a new category… best creative writing on a blog. This should be interpreted widely; it could be someone who’s writing a ficition or poetry blog, or just someone who takes a creative approach to the writing on their personal blog, for example.
If you want to nominate this blog, simply send the URL http://blogs.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/food/ for the Personal blog category to firstname.lastname@example.org by Sept. 7.
Only bloggers in the Manchester area are eligible.
Kate says: “I’ll draw up a shortlist after the close of the nominating period, and the winners will be selected by a judging panel that will include me, Richard Fair of BBC Manchester and Dave Carter of MDDA, which is kindly footing the bill for this year’s blogstravaganza during the Manchester Literature Festival.”
I’ll keep you posted.
